Gustosissima compilation che coglie l'attimo in cui punk e reggae si incontrarono tra il 1975 e il 1982 in Gran Bretagna.

Non ci sono particolari novità (Clash, Burning Spear, Generation X, Culture, Public Image Ltd, Steel Pulse, Specials, Dennis Brown, Ruts, Madness, Black Uhuru, Linton Kwesi Johnson) ma qualche momento meno conosciuto spunta, a impreziosire il tutto (incluse le 28 pagine del booklet).
Qualche forzatura non inficia il valore dell'ascolto dei 54 brani, perfetta colonna sonora per una rovente estate.

Immancabile il contributo di Don Letts:

Era una celebrazione della diversità e un rifiuto dell’omogeneità.

La fusione tra punk e reggae divenne un modello per le band che cercavano di liberarsi dai vincoli del genere.
Come DJ al Roxy ho avuto la fortuna di vedere queste idee sbocciare fino a diventare quello che oggi chiamiamo il "punky reggae party" e quarantacinque anni dopo il suo messaggio ha ancora un grande effetto".
